    Olympic Games 1972. Medal World Record IAAF for the 400 metres world record by Christina Brehmer (East Germany) which she set ahead of the Olympic summer Games in 1976. Inscribed "International Amateur Athletic Federation to Christina Brehmer (GDR) 400 M 49,77 9 May 1976 Dresden". Bronze, 10x7 cm in original box. Official medal of the International Association of Athletics Federations for a world record- Extremely rare. Christina Brehmer (married Brehmer) was 18 years old when she set the record in 1976, thus she was awarded the "World Junior Record Holder" badge. The time was stopped electronically. Since it was the first time ever that a woman needed under 50 seconds for this distance, it record was officially acknowledged as a 8senior) world record. Brehmer was the 400 metres silver medallist at the Olympic Games of 1976 and won gold in the 4x400 metres relay.
